IKS Health implemented its prescription renewal management solution, using proprietary technology to centralize refill requests arriving from patient portals, phone calls, and Surescripts. Working with the group’s clinical champions, the team finalized a comprehensive rules book to keep pace with a growing volume of requests.
Predefined and approved guidelines and protocols then routed each request, based on its outcome, to either a clinician or clinic staff, which brought consistency and safety to a process that had lacked both.
IKS Health AssuRx reduced the administrative load, made refills safer, and scaled across the group’s specialties over time. What began in internal medicine expanded into family medicine, rheumatology, pediatrics, OB/GYN, cardiology, gastroenterology, hematology and oncology, neurology, and urology, and by recommending lab tests or office visits for clinician review, the solution also drove new ancillary revenue.
