IKS Health began by collaborating with the group’s department chairs to review clinical protocols, surface gaps and issues, and finalize a comprehensive rule book for managing refill requests. With that foundation in place, IKS Health implemented its prescription renewal management solution, using proprietary technology to centralize refill requests from patient portals, phone calls, and Surescripts.
From there, IKS Health pharmacists applied the approved protocols and routed each request, based on its outcome, to a clinician, clinic staff, or the front desk, which brought both consistency and clinical judgment to a process that had lacked structure.
IKS Health solution gave time back to physicians and staff, and scaled from a single pilot across the group’s specialties.
